Southern Wayne Sanitary District - Altitude Control Valve
Cox-Edwards engineered the installation of the SWSD altitude control valve. The valve was put in place to control the volume of water passing through the existing 12” water line to the checkerboard water tank. Before installation, the south-side in-line valve on US 117 Alternate in front of the Ada Craig WTP as well as the in-line valve on Williamson Farm Road near US 117 Bypass had to be throttled down to prevent the water tank from overflowing. As a result of the projects’ completion, the previously throttled valves can now be left open and unattended, without the risk of overflowing the tank.
